How do you reset oil service light Mercedes C Class W202. From years: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000.

  1. Diagnostic Reset Tool Required (please refer to TOOLS page) Manual Reset. Turn key in steering lock to position 2. Within 4 seconds press 0 button twice.
  2. The present status for days or distance displays, within 10 seconds turn the electroninc key in steering lock to position 0.
  3. Press and hold 0 button while turning electronic key in steering loack to position 2 again.
  4. The present status for days or distance displays once more.
  5. Continue to hold 0 button for approximately 10 seconds until a signal sounds and the display shows 10 000 (15000KM) for approximately 10 seconds.
  6. Release 0 button, the status is reset.

  1. On a 98 c 200 elegance there is an orange light just under the fuel gauge. It is not shown in the owners manual. The best way to see it is by torchlight with everything off, your thoughts please, thanks , David

    It could be the sensor for the light intensity of the instrument gauges.
