    1. The engine light stay on beacause you have some problems with: exhaust recirculation gas sensor is in fault, EGR valve or sensor, broken EVAP, one or moare spark plugs damage or wire, lighting coildamage. Connect your Chrysler Town and Country from 2010 to OBD2 and see what information code appear. After you have found the problem change the auto parts that is damage or is not working. And you should not reset check engine light because this warning light will disappear.

  1. Wow! Thank you for this! I looked through the manual front to back several times and couldn’t find this info.

  2. We ended up having to depress the accelerator 5 times and NOT turn off the ignition — went straight from depressing the accelerator to starting the ignition. 😀 2010 T&C, hope that helps. Might have worked on just 3 accelerator depressions, but did NOT work if we turned it off before starting the engine. Tried repetitively.

  3. This doesn’t work. Tried 30 Xs, nothing. Tried on flat pavement, tried 1 click forward, 1 click backward, tried brake, tried accelorator, tried brake and accelorator, tried with emergency brake, still “perform service” after getting oil change and now oil light is appearing. It doesn’t work.

    1. Hello! You are probably doing something wrong during the process, or something isn’t working properly. If the light is still on after you follow the procedure, you might consider checking the error at your dealer.

  4. Also, why is there a photo of a foot on a brake pedal?

Is it a brake pedal or the excelorator pedal that is to be pushed many many many times? Confused what pedal is to be pushed.

Appreciate the help, however it’s not working no matter the combination.

Sigh, it’s going to the mechanic. Wasted so much time on this van. I just had the oil changed. Now the oil light is coming on post service reminder. Nothing but trouble.

    1. Hello! Is the accelerator pedal that you have to press in order to reset the oil service message.

I recently changed my oil in my 2014 Chrysler town & country. After I completed the job the engine light now stays on. Did I possibly drip some oil on to a sensor close by?
