  1. The oil can icon keeps going on and off while driving. When driving its off, when I brake, it goes on. It’s not the “oil life” indicator. It’s the little oil can light that is flashing on and off. It’s a 2009 Chevy cobalt. Why would this light be flashing on and off?

    1. Hello Tina, if the oil light is red, it is very bad, check immediately the engine oil level .
