If you want to fix the problem on your Skoda Octavia Mk1 and reset the abs warning light follows our instructions and you will succeed to repair your car. This procedure is available for Octavia first generation made between 1996 and December 2010.
If the ABS indicator (see below picture) on your vehicle is staing on and is not working properly when braking.
The best way to find out the cause of the problem is a code reader. Connect the code reader into the OBD socket which ese located under the steering wheel. The most often problem is caused by ABS sensor.
Search the sensor and se if this is dirty maybe a few flakes of rust have stuck onto the ABS sensor which is magnetic. In some cases you just have to clean up the sensor and reluctor ring and the problem is solve. The reluctor ring can be sprayed with some WD40 then brushed with a wire brush, then everything degrased and wiper clean. After you have solve the sensor problem you can turn off the indicator.
I use a pro scan obd v400 tool do delete the error, you must enter tot he menu then select VW/Audi go to “abs brakes” press ok and you will enter to the system now select function “erase codes” and the ABS warning light will be reset.
