Do it yourself, replace the glass of the side mirror on BMW 3 seriers (E90), the model produced between the years 2004 and 2009. If the glass of your wing mirror is broken or for some other reason you wish to replace it, you should know that you can do it very simply, without tools, in just a couple of minutes. To protect your hands, in case the glass is broken, we strongly recommend you to use a pair of hand gloves or the tip of a screwdriver.
First of all, you should get rid of the old glass on the mirror. You can do it by prying it out with your fingers, as you can see in the image below.
After you detach that glass, you will notice that it has a cable connector behind it, as seen in the image below. Those are the wires that heat and defrost the mirror when needed. Unplug that connector and remove the glass out of the way. In some cases, depending on the type of your mirror, you might find two small wire plugs in there. The procedure is the same. Unplug and reinstall them onto the new glass.
Now you can install the new glass into the support on the mirror. Align it correctly and press on it, in order to secure it there.
