DIY, replace the glass of the right side mirror on your VW Jetta manufactured in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. You will need a flat head screwdriver for the repair, or you can do it very simply using your bare hands. The repair will not take you more than 5 minutes.
In the first step of the replacement, you have to detach the old and probably broken glass. You ca do that by carefully inserting a flat screwdriver, or your fingers behind it, just like in the image below.
You should use hand gloves if the glass is broken, to avoid any unwanted accidents. If it is intact and you want to take it out like that, we recommend you to pry slowly on the right side of the mirror, to the exterior. Act gently on the glass because it will break very easily if you apply too much force on it. The last step before removing the glass is to disconnect the two electrical wires used to heat the mirror, as you can see in the next picture.
Now you can install the replacement. Do not forget to plug back the two wires and then align the glass to allow the plastic clamps to fit into their sockets, as shown next. Press and fix the glass on the mirror and you are done. This is all you need to do in order to replace the glass of the right side mirror on your VW Jetta made between 2005 and 2011.
