DIY, remove and replace the front door panel on your Dodge Durango, the model produced between the years 1998 and 2003. The only tool you will need for this replacement is a Phillips screwdriver. The whole process might take you more than 30 minutes.
In the beginning, open the front door, on the driver’s side and remove the five Phillips screws that secure the door panel, located as shown in the image below. Two of them are underneath, one is behind the door pull, one in behind the small door handle and the fifth is on the triangle shaped plastic cover, by the mirror.
Once you removed all the screws, you can lift up your door panel. It should detach without problem. Behind it, you will have to unplug the electrical harnesses for the mirror switch and for the window switch and remove the metal rod for the door handle, as seen in the picture below.
This is the moment when you can remove the old door panel completely and replace it with a new one, or make the desired repairs and reinstall the old panel back. Just make sure you plug back the two harnesses and reinstall the door handle rod. Align the panel on the door frame, push on it against the door and slide it down. In the end, secure it with the five screws and that’s it. These are the steps you need to follow, if you plan to remove and replace the front door panel on your Dodge Durango, produced between the years 1998 and 2003.
