DIY, remove the rear door panel on Dodge Durango 2004-2009

Do it yourself, remove the rear door panel on your Dodge Durango, the model produced between the years 2004 and 2009. The removal process is pretty easy. You will need a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver to make this replacement. You should be able to remove and reinstall the door panel in less than 20 minutes.

You can start behind the door handle, where you need to pry out a small cover, like the one seen in the image below. You can use the tip of a flat blade screwdriver.

This cover hides a Phillips screw. There are two more, located at the bottom of the panel, one beneath the speaker and the other one somehow to the exterior, as you can see in the next picture. Remove them all using a proper screwdriver.

After you get rid of the retainers, you can grab the panel firmly, lift it up and detach it. Behind it there are two cables that have to be disconnected. One is the electrical cable powering the window switch and the other one is the metal rod for the door lock.

Move them away and remove the door panel completely. Make the repairs needed and reinstall the panel back, reversing the procedure above. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and reinstall the rear door panel on your Dodge Durango, the model manufactured between the years 2004 and 2009.
