DIY, remove the front door panel on Honda Accord 1998-2002

Do it yourself, remove the front door panel on your Honda Accord, the model made between the years 1998 and 2002. To remove the panel you will need a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver. The process will probably take you about 20 minutes.

First, open the front door of the car, on the driver’s side and work to remove the plastic covers on the door (see picture below). You can start by pulling off the triangle cover behind the mirror. You should be able to do it by hand, without any problems. Then you have to remove the plastic pin located to the interior of the car, beneath the triangle. This one can be removed using a flat blade screwdriver. Next, you should work to remove two small trim door covers that hide Phillips screws. One of them is located behind the small door handle and the second one at the bottom of the armrest.

After you remove them all, you can pull out the door handles. You will find electrical harnesses behind them, that must be disconnected (see image below). The small door handle has also a cable secured by a clip that you must detach.

After all these, you can pull on the edges of the door panel, until you release it from its clips. In order to remove it completely, you will have to unplug another two electrical wires, as seen in the next image.

Reinstalling the panel is all about reversing the steps shown above. This is all you have to do, if you wish to remove and reinstall the front door panel on your Honda Accord, the car produced between the years 1998 and 2002.
