How to remove the front door panel on Chevrolet Silverado 2007-2013

DIY, remove the front door panel on your Chevrolet Silverado, the model produced between 2007 and 2013. You will require a flat blade screwdriver or a prying tool, a 10 mm socket wrench and a pair of pliers. The repair could take you 30 minutes or more, so we recommend you to follow the steps below very carefully.

In the beginning, open the front door of the car and remove the small plastic part on the manual door handle. Then remove the covers of the door handles, all shown in detail in the picture below. You can use a small flat headed screwdriver wrapped in a rag or a special prying tool, to avoid damaging the plastic parts.

After you do it, you will have to unscrew the five 10 mm bolts that the covers revealed. There are two of them on the big door handle above the window switch, one beneath it and two on the right side. Use an appropriate socket wrench to remove them. Then pry out the triangle plastic cover on the upper part of the door and the window switch panel, following the instructions in the image below (the red arrows mark the spots where you should insert the prying tool). Do not forget to unplug the harnesses that power up the switch and detach it completely.

Now it is the moment to basically remove the door panel. You can pull out firmly but with caution all around the edges until the panel pops out from its clips. Then lift it up a little and go behind it, where you will have to remove the door handle rod, using a pair of pliers, as seen in the next picture.

Now, to put everything back together, just reverse the steps above. Install back the rod of the door handle (if you broke its plastic mounting part, make sure you replace it), align the front panel and apply pressure on it. The clips should do their job and retain the panel, leaving no unaesthetic gaps. Then reinstall the switch panel, the triangle plastic cover at the mirror and all the door handle plastic covers and you are done. These are the steps you need to follow if you need to remove the front door panel on your Chevrolet Silverado 2007-2013.
