DIY, remove the front door panel on Buick Lesabre 2000-2005

Do it yourself, remove the front door panel on your Buick Lesabre, the model manufactured between 2000 and 2005. The tools you’ll need are a Phillips screwdriver, a flat blade screwdriver and a putty knife. Removing and reinstalling the door panel might take you more than half an hour, although the process is quite simple.

You can start the process after you open the driver’s door, by prying out some plastic elements. First you can work on the triangle shaped piece behind the mirror, that houses a small speaker, then on the small door handle and in the end, on the reflector lens on the door (see picture below). All of them can be pried out gently using a flat blade screwdriver and after you do it, don’t forget to unplug the electrical harnesses behind the speaker and the door handle bezel.

Once you get rid of these parts, you can remove the two Phillips screws shown in the image below, located one behind the reflector lens and one behind the small door handle.

At this point, you can use a putty knife or a door panel clip removal tool and insert it between the door frame and the door panel, on the bottom side. Pull towards you until the panel gets out of its clips and detach it. Be careful that you will also have to unplug the main harness behind it (as seen below) before removing it completely.

Make the desired repairs or replacements, then reinstall the door panel reversing the steps above. This is all you need to do, in order to remove the front door panel on your Buick Lesabre, produced between the years 2000 and 2005.
