DIY, remove the front door panel on your Nissan Murano. The tutorial below is for Murano models manufactured between the years 2003 and 2007. This replacement will require a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver. If you find it easier, you can replace the Phillips screwdriver with a 10 mm socket wrench, because the screws on the door panel have provisions for both of them. Even if the process is not that complex, removing the panel alone, will probably take you about half an hour.
You can begin by prying out two small covers that hide Phillips screws. One is located behind the door handle and the other one at the bottom of the door pull, as you can see in the images below. So, pry them out with the tip of a flat blade screwdriver and remove the screws behind them, using a screwdriver or a 10 mm socket wrench.
After you do it, pull up the window switch and unplug the two connectors beneath it. The next step is to pry out the bezel around the door handle. You can do it using the same flat blade screwdriver, as you can see in the picture below. This trim panel has some clips behind it. Pry it out carefully, clip by clip and remove it.
Now you will have to get rid of another four screws that secure the door panel. Two of them are located behind the trim panel surrounding the door handle and the other two behind the window switch module you removed earlier (as you can see below).
By removing all these elements, you will be able to insert your fingers behind the door panel and pull it out of its retaining clips. After you detach it, you will have to disconnect the two rods behind the door handle and the connector powering the courtesy light, as you can see in the images below.
Remove the panel completely, make the required repairs or replacements and then reinstall the door panel back, reversing the steps detailed above. This is all you need to do, if you plan to remove and reinstall by yourself, the door panel on Nissan Murano, produced between the years 2003 and 2007.
