How to remove the door panel on Chevrolet Monte Carlo 2000-2007

DIY, remove and replace the door panel on the driver’s side of your Chevy Monte Carlo, the model manufactured between the years 2000 and 2007. In order to make this particular repair, you will need a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver and a T27 torx driver. You should be able to remove the panel in no more than 15 minutes, if you follow the steps below.

You can start the repair by opening the front door of the car, on the driver’s side. The first thing you need to do, is to remove four screws that hold the panel. Two of them are Phillips screws (shown with red arrows in the picture below) and the other two are T27 torx screws, located behind the big door handle (marked with the blue arrows below).

After you remove them, you will be able to pry out the panel behind the small door handle, as indicated in the image below. You can use your fingers to do it, or a flat headed screwdriver. After you detach it, unplug its electrical connector located behind.

Now is the moment when you can pry out the entire door panel. Insert the flat headed screwdriver on the extremity of the panel and pry out little by little, until it comes off. Behind the door panel, you will encounter two harnesses (as you can see next), that power up the window switch.

Disconnect them, make the desired repairs and then reinstall the door panel, or a new one, reversing the steps presented above. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the front door panel on the driver’s side of your Chevy Monte Carlo, produced between the years 2000 and 2007.
