DIY, change the front grille on Dodge Durango 1998-2003

Do it yourself, remove and change the front grille on your Dodge Durango, produced between the years 1998 and 2003. To do this replacement, you will require an 8 mm socket wrench and a new grille for your car. We also recommend you to have a flat headed screwdriver and a pair of pliers close by, because you might need them on the process. The replacement is quite simple and it will probably take you less than 30 minutes.

First of all, you should open the hood of your car and remove the eleven nuts that secure the front grille, marked with red circles and an arrow in the picture below. These nuts can be removed using an 8 mm socket wrench. If they are rusty or if they don’t come out that easily, you can use some penetrating oil on them.

After you undo them, you can release the old grille off the car. Now, in some cases, on the backside of the old grille you will find metal clips in which the bolts went into, as you can see below. You have to remove and reuse these clips on the new grille.

So, at this point you can replace the grille with a new one and install it on the car using the clips and the eleven bolts. These are the steps you have to follow in order to remove and replace the front grille on your Dodge Durango, manufactured between the years 1998 and 2003.
