DIY, change the wiper arms on your Cadillac CTS, made in the year 2006. For this particular replacement, you will need a 15 mm socket wrench, a black marker pen and new wiper arms from your local auto parts store. The repair process will take you about 15 minutes, because it is fairly simple.
At first, open the hood of your car and go to the wipers on the windshield. You should remove the two black caps that cover up the nuts holding the wiper arms, as shown in the image below.
All you have to do is to squeeze them and pull them up. They will uncover two 15 mm nuts that you have to remove using the socket wrench. You can also do it with a simple wrench of the same size. Be careful, before removing them, you should use a black marker or painter’s tape to mark the exact position of the wipers on the windshield, as shown in the picture below. This will help you with the reinstall process.
Now you can remove the two 15 mm nuts that secure the wiper arms. After you do it, work on the arms by pulling up and pushing them down several times, until they come out. Reinstall the new pieces but not until you make sure they are properly lined up on the markers made earlier on the windshield. Secure them with the two nuts and at the end cover the nuts with the black caps.
