Do it yourself, remove and replace the power window switch on the driver’s side of your Ford Expedition, the model produced between the years 1997 and 2003. You will need a new window switch panel from your auto parts shop and a flat headed screwdriver. You can also consider using a rag to wrap the screwdriver, in order to protect the plastic parts. This simple replacement will not take you more than a couple of minutes.
You can start the repair by prying out the plastic part of the window switch. Use a flat headed screwdriver wrapped in a rag and insert it on the right side of the switch panel, to the interior of the car and pry out. Pop it and then move to the other side, as you can see in the picture below, until the panel is released from the door.
So, detach the switch panel and beneath it, you will notice three electrical harnesses, as you can see below. Unplug them and remove the panel completely.
Now, if you need to separate the modules from the plastic cover, you can do it with a flat blade screwdriver. Pry out the plastic teeth one by one and make the required replacements. After that, you can install the new window switch. Connect back the three electrical harnesses and then press the panel inside the door, from the left side first. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the power window switch on the driver’s side of your Ford Expedition, manufactured between the years 1997 and 2003.
