How to change the window switch on Buick Regal 1997-2005

Do it yourself, change the master window switch on your Buick Regal, the model produced between the years 1997 and 2005. For this particular replacement you will need a flat headed screwdriver, a new window switch module from your hardware store and, if you wish, a rag to wrap around the tip of the screwdriver, in order to protect the plastics on the door.

First, open the front door, on the driver’s side and pry out the plastic part of the window switch. You can do it very simply, by inserting the flat headed screwdriver on the right side of the switch panel, to the interior of the car, as you can see in the image below. After you release it from this side, you should be able to detach it.

Underneath it, you will encounter three electrical harnesses, ass you can see in the next picture. Disconnect them one by one and remove the entire panel.

Now, if you replace the switch module and the plastic part, you can just install everything back. But if you need to separate the plastic from the module, use the flat blade screwdriver and remove the plastic carefully. After you make the required replacements, connect back those harnesses and reinstall the window switch into the door. Insert the left side first and then push in the right side and that should be it. This is all you have to do, if you wish to remove and replace the master window switch on your Buick Regal, made between the years 1997 and 2005.
