Do it yourself, change the turn signal assembly on your Nissan Altima made between the years 1993 and 1997. You will require a Phillips screwdriver and a new turn signal assembly from your local auto parts shop. You might also need a flat blade screwdriver to help you with the wiring harness. The repair can easily be done in about 5 minutes.
In the first step, go to the front bumper and, using the Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw that holds the turn signal assembly, as indicated in the picture below.
After you remove the Phillips screw, the whole assembly will come out. The next thing you have to do is to disconnect the wiring harness shown in the next picture. You can do it by pressing the little securing tab down, using your fingers or using a flat blade screwdriver if it’s really needed.
Now you can easily access the light bulb and service it if necessary. You just have to rotate its socket counterclockwise. Replace the whole assembly with the new one, connect the harness back and tighten the Phillips screw to secure the piece on the front bumper. Pay attention not to over tight that screw, because you may damage the plastic parts of the turn signal. This is all you need to do, in order to replace the front turn signal assembly on your Nissan Altima, manufactured between the years 1993 and 1997.
