DIY, change the tail light bulbs on a Dodge Ram Facelift made between 2006 and 2008. To be able to service the bulbs, you will require a T 25 torx driver and a new bulb from your hardware store. This repair should not take you more than 10 minutes, because the process is very simple.
First of all, you need to open the back door of your trunk and look on the side where your bulb is damaged, near the tail light, after two torx screws (shown in the image below). These are the screws that hold the tail light assembly in place. You can unscrew them using the T 25 torx driver.
Now you can easily detach the assembly by pulling it towards you. It will slip out if you move it slowly to the right and then to the left, until the safety metal pins get out of their sockets. You will notice that the tail light only holds in two harnesses, as shown below. These cables power up the bulbs.
To service the tail light bulbs, you just have to rotate the plastic sockets counterclockwise. As always, keep in mind not to touch the surface of the replacement bulb because you can shorter its lifetime. After you finish all this, make sure you put everything back together as it should be and you are done. This is what you need to know, if you need to change the tail light bulbs on your Dodge Ram 2008.
