How to change the tail light on Buick Lesabre 2000-2005

Do it yourself, change the tail light assembly on your Buick Lesabre, produced between the years 2000 and 2005. The only tool you’ll need is a 10 mm wrench or a socket. The repair can be done easily, in less than 15 minutes.

In the beginning, you have to open the trunk and remove the two thumb screws shown in the image below, located behind the tail light. They hold a plastic trim that you must remove in order to get access behind the tail light assembly you wish to replace.

After you remove that plastic trim, you will have to undo the three 10 mm nuts seen in the picture below, that secure the assembly. After you do it, you can just pull out the tail light. To remove it completely, twist the light bulbs’ sockets counterclockwise.

At this moment you can install the replacement. Make sure you reconnect the light bulbs, insert the tail light into the body of the car and secure it with the three nuts. Place the plastic trim back, in your trunk and that’s it. This is all you need to do, if you wish to change the tail light assembly on your Buick Lesabre, made between the years 2000 and 2005.
