How to change the tail light assembly on Toyota Camry 1992-1994

DIY, change the tail light assembly on your Toyota Camry, produced between the years 1992 and 1994. You will require a flat blade screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver to make the replacement. If you need to service the light bulbs, you will need new ones and if you change the entire tail light, you will require a new assembly. You can do this simple repair in less than 15 minutes.

First of all, you should open the trunk, in order to gain access to the tail light from both sides (from the interior of the trunk and from the outside). You can start by removing the two Phillips screws marked with red circles in the picture below. They are there to secure the assembly.

After you remove them, you can detach the assembly from the body of the car. Just grab it firmly, shake it to the sides and pull it out. The lens will not come out completely, because inside the trunk, you will have to disconnect its electrical harness, which is located behind the insulation, as seen in the next image. Remove the plastic pins with your flat headed screwdriver, take the insulation away and unplug the harness, in order to remove the tail light completely.

Now you can service the bulbs by twisting their sockets counterclockwise. If you don’t need to do that, you can just replace the old tail light assembly with a new one. Install it back on the body of the car, secure it with the two screws and reconnect the electrical harness on the back, to power it up. These are the steps you need to follow, if you wish to remove and replace the tail light assembly on your Toyota Camry, the model made between 1992 and 1994.

I see lots of videos on how to replace the tail lights on the side. But I do not see any information on how to replace the center tail light assembly on a 94 Camry trunk lid.
