DIY, change the side mirror on Toyota Corolla 1993-1997

Do it yourself, change the side mirror on your Toyota Corolla, the model made between the years 1993 and 1997. The replacement procedure is pretty simple. You will only require a 10 mm wrench, or a socket with a ratchet and about 15 minutes of your time.

The process is similar on both the driver and the passenger’s sides. So, you will have to open the front door and start by prying out the triangle shaped cover seen in the image below. You should be able to do it by hand, without much effort.

After you get rid of the small cover, you can remove the three 10 mm bolts that hold the mirror, marked with red circles in the picture below.

By doing that, you will not release the mirror completely from the door frame, because it has another retainer, a small securing clip on the middle. You should be able to pinch it with a pair of needle nose pliers or using a flat headed screwdriver. After you do it, the mirror will come out and you will be able to install the replacement, reversing the steps above. This is all you need to do, if you plan to remove and replace the side mirror on your Toyota Corolla, the model manufactured between the years 1993 and 1997.
