Do it yourself, change the parking light and turn signal assembly on your Toyota Camry, produced between the years 1997 and 2001. The replacement will require a flat headed screwdriver and a new turn signal assembly from your auto parts store. The repair can take you less than 15 minutes, if you follow the simple instructions presented below.
First of all, you have to open the hood of your car and go above the turn signal you need to replace. You should easily locate there, the plastic clip indicated in the image below. You can remove it using the flat headed screwdriver, by prying out on the middle of the clip first and then getting under it and removing it completely.
After you deal with this retainer, you can pull out the turn signal assembly. This is actually the hardest part of the repair, because the plastic housing is clipped in to the headlight and the fender. So, you will have to pull out firmly and work on it, until it comes out. The assembly will be removed completely after you unplug the harness behind it, that powers the bulb, seen in the next picture.
Now, you can twist the bulb’s socket and service it if needed and then install the new assembly carefully into the body of the car, securing it with that plastic clip above. This is all you need to do if you wish to change the parking light and turn signal assembly on your Toyota Camry made between the years 1997 and 2001.
