Do it yourself, change the parking light assembly on your Ford Ranger. The replacement procedure we show you next is similar on models made between the years 2001 and 2010. You will require a new parking light assembly, a 6 mm socket wrench and about 15 minutes of your time.
In order to make the repair, open the hood of your car and first, remove the headlight, in order to get access to the parking light assembly. You can do it very simply by pulling up the two metal tabs that hold it, shown in the image below.
Removing them will release the headlight assembly and behind it, you will notice the two electrical harnesses that power up the bulbs. Unplug them and detach the headlight completely. This will give you access to the two 6 mm bolts that secure the parking light, as you can see below.
You can use an appropriate socket wrench to remove them and then you can easily release the parking light. Behind it, you will have to unplug the harness powering the bulb, marked with the blue arrow in the picture above. At this point, you can install the replacement. Make the repairs needed and reinstall everything back by reversing the steps shown in the description above. These are the steps you need to follow if you wish to change the parking light assembly on your Ford Ranger, made between the years 2001 and 2010.
