DIY, change the middle brake light assembly on your Ford Ranger, the model produced in the years 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997. This is a simple repair, that you can do in less than 10 minutes, using only a Phillips screwdriver.
First of all, you will have to access and remove the old brake light assembly. This can be done very simply using a Phillips screwdriver. You will have to remove the two screws marked with red arrows in the image below.
After you do it, you will be able to pull the assembly out. In order to remove it completely, you will have to unplug the electrical harness that powers the three light bulbs, as seen in the picture below. If you need to service them, these bulbs can be pulled out by twisting their sockets counterclockwise.
After you make the required replacements, reconnect the harness to the new brake light assembly, insert it into its place, making sure all the wires behind are hidden inside the body of the car. The last step is to secure the assembly with the two screws. This is all you need to do, if you plan to remove and replace the middle brake light assembly on your Ford Ranger, the model manufactured between the years 1993 and 1997.
