DIY, change the left side mirror on Ford Ranger 1995-2005

Do it yourself, change the left side mirror on your Ford Ranger, the model manufactured between 1995 and 2005. The replacement can be done in about 30 minutes, using a flat headed screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, 6 and 11 mm socket wrenches.

First of all, remove the two bolts located under the main door handle, on the driver’s side (see image below). You can do it using a Phillips screwdriver. Then, open the door handle and release the plastic cover containing the window switch module. Unplug the electrical harnesses marked in the picture below, paying attention to the one in the middle. It has two small Phillips screws that you should remove first.

Now, you have to remove the two bolts marked with blue circles below, lift the door panel up and remove it. You will uncover the front speaker. Remove its four bolts using a 6 mm socket wrench and the electrical harness on its bottom. Then detach the cover marked with the red arrow, in order to get access to the bolts that hold the mirror.

At this moment, you can detach the side mirror, immediately after you remove the three 11 mm bolts that hold it and the connector, located behind the speaker, on the inside edge of the door (see next image).

When you remove the last nut, support the mirror from outside, because it will fall. Install the replacement and then make sure you put everything back together, reversing the whole process. This is all you have to do, if you wish to change the left side mirror on your Ford Ranger, manufactured between 1995 and 2005.
