DIY, change the air intake hose on your Pontiac Sunfire, made between the years 1995 and 1997. You may wanna wish to make this repair if the intake hose on your car is dry out and cracked, or if it got broken during another repair. For this replacement you will only require a flat headed screwdriver. You can make the repair quite easily, in about 15 minutes.
First of all, open the hood of the car and unplug the connector marked with the red arrow in the next picture. Use your thumb and undo it very easily. After you do it, you should also remove the cable above the intake hose, that goes from the throttle body into your car. You just have to work on the plastic retainer marked below with the blue arrow.
At this point you should loosen the two clamps located at the extremities, using a regular flat headed screwdriver (see image below).
In the final step of the replacement, you just have to pull out the hose from the throttle body at one end and from the air box at the other end. To finish the repair, reinstall the new hose and secure it with the two metal clamps. Don’t forget to plug back the sensor and the cable above and you are ready to go. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the intake hose on your Pontiac Sunfire, made between the years 1995 and 1997.
