Do it yourself, change the headlight assembly on your Ford Taurus, the model manufactured between the years 2000 and 2007. You will require an 8 mm socket wrench, a new headlight from your auto parts store and about 20 minutes of your time.
You can start this fairly easy repair by opening the hood of your car. Then you will have to remove the 8 mm bolt marked with the red circle in the image below. The headlight assembly is also held by two metal clips that should come out by hand. We marked their position with blue arrows. If you find it difficult to remove them, you can use a flat blade screwdriver or a pair of pliers.
After you remove them, you can pull out the assembly. It should come out easily enough. Behind it, there is an electrical connector that you must unplug, as you can see below.
At this moment you can make the desired repairs and replacements. If you need to service the light bulbs, you can do it by turning their socket counterclockwise. After you do it, you can install the new headlight into its place. Secure it with those metal clips and the bolt and you should be ready to go. This is all you have to do, if you need to remove and replace the headlight assembly on your Ford Taurus, produced between the years 2000 and 2007.
