Do it yourself, change the headlight assembly on your Ford Ranger. The replacement procedure is pretty much the same on models from the years 1993, until 2010. You will not require tools to make the replacement, only a new headlight assembly from your auto parts shop. The repair is very, very easy and it should not take you more than 10 minutes.
You can start the repair by opening the hood of your car. Go to the headlight that you must replace and pull up the two metal tabs that hold it. They should look like the ones in the picture below.
After you release them, you should be able to detach the headlight. Behind it, there are two electrical harnesses, that power up the bulbs (see image below). Unplug them, or twist the sockets of the bulbs counterclockwise and remove the assembly completely.
Service the bulbs if needed and make all the repairs required, than install the new headlight. Connect back its harnesses and secure it back into the body of the car with those metal tabs. This is basically all you have to do, if you wish to change by yourself the headlight assembly on Ford Ranger, the model manufactured between the years 2001 and 2010.
