How to change the headlight assembly on Chevy Venture 1997-2005

DIY, change the headlight assembly on your Chevy Venture, manufactured between the years 1997 and 2005. You won’t need tools to make this simple replacement, just about 15 minutes, if you follow the steps below.

First of all, open the hood of your car and go to the headlight that needs repairs or replacement. There you should locate the three thumb screws marked with red circles in the picture below. You should be able to remove them by hand, quite easily.

After you remove them, you can basically pull out the headlight assembly. The parking light will come out as well, because it is held by two guiding pins to the exterior of the car and that thumb screw that connects it to the main headlight. Behind the headlight you will need to unplug the electrical harness shown below, or simply twist the securing ring of the light bulb and remove the bulb.

At this point you can make the repairs and replacements needed. Then reconnect the harnesses to the new assemblies, align them properly on their places and secure them with the thumbs screws. These are the steps you need to follow, if you wish to remove and replace the headlight and the parking light assemblies on your Chevy Venture, made between the years 1997 and 2005.
