Do it yourself, change the glass of the right side mirror on your Skoda Octavia Mk2, the model made between the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 or 2010. This replacement does not require tools. You can do it with your bare hands, but in some cases, a flat blade screwdriver might be required or recommended. The process should not take you more than 5 minutes, if you follow the simple steps below.
The first step is to remove the old glass. You can do it very simply, by inserting your fingers behind it, as shown in the next image. Push the piece slowly towards the exterior, until it gets out.
If it is broken and you have a lot of glass shards, you may consider wearing gloves or using a flat blade screwdriver. They might also help, if the glass is intact and you need to remove it that way. After you do it, you might come across two electrical wires. If your glass is heated, you will find them attached. You just have to unplug them, as you can see below.
Now you are ready to install the replacement. Reconnect the electrical wires, because they heat and defrost your mirror. Then align the new glass as shown in the picture below and press on it with your both hands, until it is secured (one hand should be on the glass and the other one on the plastic cover of the mirror).
This is all you need to do, if you plan to replace by yourself the glass of the right side mirror, on Skoda Octavia Mk2, made between 2004 and 2010. You can watch the video below for more practical details.
