How to change the front grille on Subaru Outback 1994-1999

DIY, change the front radiator grille on your Subaru Outback, the model made in the years 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. The repair process we show you below might be similar on some Subaru Legacy models. To make the replacement, you will a need new grille from the parts shop, a pair of needle-nose pliers and about 10 minutes of your time.

The replacement of the front grille is quite simple on this Subaru model. Basically, after you open and secure the hood of the car, you will have to remove the six clips that hold the front grille. Four of them are securing it at the top, as you can see in the image below and the other two are down lower. In order to remove the top ones, use a pair of needle-nose pliers and squeeze the clip as you pull the grille out. Use this method for all the four clips and detach the top side.

After you do it, reach your pliers down in and try to use the same technique to remove the other two clips, seen in the picture below.

At this moment, after you get rid of all the retainers and detach the old grille, you can install a replacement one. You just have to alight the new grille on the clips and push it in until it is secured by all six of them. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the front grille on your Subaru Outback, the model produced between the years 1994 and 1999.
