DIY, change the fog light assembly on your Saturn Ion, if it’s the model produced between the years 2003 and 2007. The replacement procedure will only require a 10 mm socket wrench, with a ratchet. The repair can be done in less that 15 minutes and you will find it easier to do it using a jack or an elevator, to lift the car.
So, start the repair underneath the front bumper. You will have to pull out the light bulb first, to make some room (see image below). You can do that by twisting the socket of the bulb counterclockwise. After you do it, you will be able to service this bulb, if you need do.
If not, move forward and, using a 10 mm socket wrench with a ratchet, remove the two nuts that secure the fog light assembly onto the front bumper (see picture below).
This will allow you to simply pull out the fog light lens, afterwards. In order to install the replacement, you will have to insert the new assembly with the two bolts passing through their holes. Then you will secure the new fog light with the nuts and plug back the light bulb. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the fog lights on your Saturn Ion, the model made between the years 2003 and 2007.
