DIY, change the fog lights on Ford Ranger 2001-2003

Do it yourself, change the fog light assemblies on your Ford Ranger made between the years 2001 and 2003. This repair requires an 8 mm socket wrench and new fog lights from your local auto parts shop. The whole process should not take you more than 15 minutes for both lights.

In order to access the fog lights you will have to look behind the front bumper. Use a jack or a car elevator to make everything much easier. Be advised, because if you just need to service the light bulbs, removing the fog light assemblies is not necessary. You can simply rotate the socket of the light bulb counterclockwise and install the replacement. But if the fog light assemblies are damaged, you will have to first disconnect the electrical harness marked in blue in the next image.

And then, remove the three 8 mm bolts that hold the assembly, using the socket wrench. We marked with red the position of the bolt on the right. The other two are on the left and upper side of the fog light. After you remove the bolts, the assembly will come out very easily.

At this point, you can install the replacement. Align the new fog light assembly correctly and tighten its bolts. Connect back its harness and you are done. This is everything you need to know, if you wish to replace the fog lights on your Ford Ranger, manufactured between the years 2001 and 2003.
