Do it yourself, change the fog light assembly on your Ford Focus, the model made in the years 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. You will not require tools to make this repair, just a new fog light from your local hardware store and about 5 minutes of your time.
The replacement process is quite simple. You just have to go in front of the car, to the fog light that needs repairs and locate the metal clamp shown in the image below. It holds the assembly and you can reach it with your fingers, through the plastic grille. You will have to flip it away, to the back.
After you do it, you will be able to pull out the fog light. In order to remove it completely, reach behind it and disconnect the electrical harness powering the light bulb, as seen in the picture below. You can also twist the socket of the light bulb counterclockwise.
This is the moment when you can install the replacement. Service the bulb if needed. If not, connect back the assembly to the electrical harness and insert it into the front bumper. After you align it properly and secure it with that clamp, you should be ready to go.
