Do it yourself, remove and replace the front door panel on your Ford Taurus, the model made between the years 2000 and 2007. In order to make this replacement you will need a Phillips screwdriver and about 30 minutes of your time.
First of all, open the driver’s door and remove the seven Phillips screws shown in the image below. Five of them are on the door panel’s extremities and the other two are behind the big door handle.
After you remove all these screws, you can basically pull out the door panel. If you find it difficult, you can use a putty knife or a similar tool to release the door panel. Behind it, you will find four electrical harnesses, as you can see in the picture below, that power up the window switch, the door lock control and the mirrors. Disconnect them and remove the panel completely.
At this point you can make the desired repairs and replacements and after you finish, you can install back the front door panel or a new one. Make sure you reconnect those harnesses, align the panel properly on the door frame and secure it first with its clips and then with the seven Phillips screws. This is all you have to do, in order to remove and replace the front door panel on your Ford Taurus, the model manufactured between the years 2000 and 2007.
