Do it yourself, change the blower motor on your Ford Taururs, the model manufactured between the years 1996 and 2007. For this repair, you will only require an 8 mm socket wrench with an extension. You might also be able to do it with a simple wrench of the same size. The replacement process is quite simple and can be done in less than 20 minutes.
First of all, you should open the front door, on the passenger’s side and get below the glove box. There you will have to remove a plastic trim panel held by two clips, as you can see in the image below.
Pull those clips out and detach the panel. Behind it, you will notice the blower motor. In order to remove it, you have to disconnect it electrical harness and undo the three 8 mm bolts that hold it, as seen in the picture below. If you use a wrench and not a socket, be careful, because you might need to remove the glove box.
This is the moment when you can remove and replace the old blower motor. Install the new one in place, connect its harness and secure it with those three bolts. In the end don’t forget about the plastic cover beneath the glove box. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove and replace the blower motor on your Ford Taurus, the model produced between the years 1996 and 2007.
