DIY, change the air filter on your Toyota Corolla 2003-2008
Do it yourself, change the air filter on your Toyota Corolla manufactured between the years 2003 and 2008. This replacement is very easy and does not require tools. You can do it in about 5 minutes using only your bare hands.
In the first step of the repair, open the hood of your car and locate the air box, which is behind the battery. This plastic box basically holds the air filter. You will have to remove the two clips that secure it, marked with red arrows in the next image.
After you finish this task, you will be able to lift up the plastic part of the air box and get access to the air filter, as shown in the picture below.
This is the moment when you can work on replacing the old filter, but only after you make sure the replacement is compatible. Always compare the old filter with the new one, just to be sure. Install the new filter and finish the repair, by reversing the steps presented above. Place the top of the air box back, sealing the filter and secure those two clips. This is all you need to do if you need to change the air filter on your Toyota Corolla made between the years 2003 and 2008.
