Do it yourself, change the glass of the left side mirror on your Renault Megane MK2 manufactured between the years 2002 and 2012. You can make this repair in about 5 minutes. You will need a pair of protecting gloves and in some cases, a flat blade screwdriver.
In the first step of the replacement, you have to remove the old, cracked glass carefully. You can do it with your bare hands, as in the picture below, if the glass is not broken. But if not, using a pair of gloves is recommended, for protection. You can also use a flat blade screwdriver, if you find it easier and safer. If the glass is still intact and you wish or you need to take it out that way, you should pry it out slowly and with patience. Applying too much force will damage it easily.
You won’t be able to detach the glass until you unplug the wires behind it, used for heating and defrosting. After you do it, you can install the replacement. First of all, make sure you reconnect the electrical wires (see image below). Then, align the glass on the mirror and push on it until it is fixed.
This is all you need to do if you wish to change the glass of the left side mirror on your Renault Megane MK2 made between the years 2002 and 2012. You can watch the following video tutorial for a detailed presentation about the replacement.
