Do it yourself, replace the rear door panel on your Saab 9-3, made between the years 2003 and 2011. You can do it with a flat blade screwdriver, a T30 torx bit socket with a ratchet and an extension and a putty knife. The removal process only, will probably take you less than half an hour. If you plan to work on the door for a long period of time, you might consider disconnecting the negative cable from the battery (10 mm wrench or a socket required).
After you open the rear door, you can start the removal by prying out a plastic cover on the door pull (see image below). You can do it by hand, or using a flat blade screwdriver.
Once you do it, you will uncover two wholes where are located T30 screws, as you can see below. Remove the screws and you can work to detach the door panel.
Using a putty knife, work beneath the door panel and release it from the door frame little by little. Once you make enough space to insert your hands, lift it up and disconnect the cables behind it, in order to remove it completely. There is a metal cable for the door handle and two electrical harnesses powering the window switch module (see images below).
After you make the desired replacements or repairs, reinstall the door panel reversing the steps above. These are the steps that you should follow, if you wish to remove and replace the rear door panel on your Saab 9-3, made between the years 2003 and 2011.
