Do it yourself, remove the rear door panel on your Chevy Impala, made between the years 2000 and 2005. The tools needed to make this repair are a Phillips screwdriver, a T30 torx driver and a putty knife. This removal might take you more than 20 minutes.
In the beginning you can undo the Phillips screw behind the small door handle. After you do it, you will be able to pry out the plastic bezel around the handle. Then, remove the two T30 screws inside the big door handle, as seen in the image below. Once you have those screws removed, you can pull up the handle and disconnect an electrical harness beneath it.
Now you will have to pull out the triangle shaped cover in the top left corner, in the picture below. You can simply do it by hand and, after that, you will have to remove another two T30 screws, located inside the door panel, where the big door handle was.
After you remove all these elements, you will be able to insert a putty knife between the panel and the door and pry it out little by little. Pull it out, make the desired repairs and install it back, reversing the steps shown above. This is all you need to do, in order to remove and replace the rear door panel on your Chevy Impala, the model produced between 2000 and 2005.
