Do it yourself, remove the front door panel on your Nissan Maxima. The removal process is similar on models produced between the years 2004 and 2008. You will need a flat blade screwdriver and a 10 mm socket, with a ratchet and extension. The removal of the door panel alone will probably take you more than 20 minutes.
Start with a flat blade screwdriver, by prying out a small door-like cover behind the door handle. Then go to the window switch and lift it from the side (to the exterior of the door) with the same screwdriver, as indicated in the picture below. After you do it, unplug the harnesses beneath the switch and remove it completely.
Next, use the flat blade screwdriver again to pry out the trim panel that you can see crossing the door panel on the middle. Start from the arm rest and pull it out step by step, until you remove it. It will uncover two 10 mm bolts, as you can see in the next image. Remove them and the bolt behind the small door handle, using a socket wrench with a ratchet.
After you remove these elements, you can grab the door panel from the sides and pry it out little by little until it gets out. In order to remove it completely, you will have to unplug the two cables that trigger the door handle and then disconnect two plugs located down below (see pictures below).
At this moment you can make the desired repairs or replacements. Finish by reinstalling the door panel, reversing the steps above. This is all you need to do, if you wish to remove the front door panel by yourself, on Nissan Maxima, produced between 2004 and 2008.
