Do it yourself, remove the front door panel on your Ford Expedition, the car manufactured between the years 1997 and 2005. You will require a flat headed screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver. The whole removal process might take you more than 30 minutes.
In the beginning, you have to open the front door, on the driver’s side. You can start by prying out the triangle shaped plastic cover on the upper, right corner of the door (see picture below). You can insert a flat blade screwdriver at the top of the cover and after you detach it, just pull it up firmly and remove it completely.
Next, you should pry out the small mirror switch and the window switch with the same screwdriver. Disconnect the harnesses behind them and remove them completely. Then, you must do the same thing with the plastic cover around the small door handle. In the end, it’s just about the signal light on the door (see next image). You have to remove its exterior plastic part, because behind it, there is a Phillips screw that you must undo.
The door panel is secured by three Phillips screws, though. The second one is located behind that triangle cover we removed in the beginning and the third is located in behind the window switch panel. After you get rid of all the retainers, you can take the whole panel and lift it up firmly. It won’t come out completely, until you disconnect the light bulb from the signal light assembly on the door panel (as you can see in the picture below). You just have to twist it and pull it out.
After all this process, you can detach the front door panel completely. Reinstalling it is just about carefully reversing this process. These are the steps you need to follow, if you wish to remove the front door panel on your Chevy Venture, made between the years 1997 and 2003.
