Do it yourself, change the tail light assembly on your Ford Expedition, produced between the years 1997 and 2002. The repair process is very easy and it will require a 7 mm socket wrench or a T20 torx driver. You can probably do it in less than 15 minutes.
First of all, you have to open the back door of your car and locate the two bolts shown in the picture below, that secure the tail light assembly.
You should be able to remove these two bolts quickly and easily, using a 7 mm socket wrench or a T20 torx driver. After you undo them, pull the tail light assembly diagonally from the car. Behind it you will come across the two electrical harnesses shown in the image below. They power up the bulbs. You can twist them counterclockwise and remove them.
At this point you can service the bulbs if needed and you can install the replacement tail light. Be careful, align the new assembly correctly and push it into the body of the car with the two lateral pins first and then secure it at the top with the two bolts. This is all you have to do, if you need to change by yourself the tail light assembly on Ford Expedition, the model made between the years 1997 and 2002.
