Do it yourself, change the third brake light assembly on your Dodge Ram produced in the year 2008. This is a very simple repair, that you can do it in the back of your garage. You will require a Phillips screwdriver and about 5 minutes of your time.
In the beginning, you will have to remove the two Phillips screws that actually hold the third brake light assembly, as indicated in the picture below.
After you remove these two screws, the whole assembly will come out. The next thing you have to do is to unplug the electrical harness shown in the next image. It should come out without much effort.
Now you can access the light bulbs and check or replace them if necessary. If you need to install new light bulbs, you just have to rotate their sockets counterclockwise. After you finish all the repairs, install the new brake light assembly, connect back its electrical harness and tighten the two Phillips screws to secure it. Be careful not to over tight those screws, because you may damage the plastic parts. This is all you need to do, if you have to change the third brake light assembly on your Dodge Ram, manufactured in the year 2008.
