Do it yourself, change the tail light assembly on the passenger’s side of Hyundai Santa Fe made between the years 2001 and 2006. You can make this simple replacement in just 10 minutes, using only a Phillips screwdriver.
In the beginning you will have to open the back door of your car and look near the tail light, in order to locate two Phillips screws (marked with red circles in the picture below). These screws actually hold the tail light assembly in place. You can unscrew them without much effort, using the Phillips screwdriver.
At this moment you can detach the tail light assembly by pulling it towards you. Be careful, because it also has a holding knob on its right, most outer part. After you remove it, you will notice three harnesses, the wires that power up the light bulbs (see image below). After you unplug them, you can work to install the replacement tail light.
Rotate the sockets counterclockwise to remove the wires, service the tail light bulbs, if needed and then install the new tail light. To put everything back together as it should be, just reverse the repair process described above. This is all you need to know, if you need to change the tail light assembly on your Hyundai Santa Fe made between the years 2001 and 2006.
