DIY, change the tail light assembly on your Dodge Caravan, made between the years 2001 and 2007. You will require a flat blade screwdriver and in some cases, a pair of pliers. It is very simple, so it should not take you more than 15 minutes.
First, open your trunk and locate near the tail light, the two plastic knobs shown in the image below. You can remove them very easily using a flat headed screwdriver. Pry out their middle part and then get underneath and remove them completely. You can also use pliers if you encounter problems.
After you do it, you can detach the tail light assembly by simply pulling it towards you. It is clipped to the body of the car on the opposite side to the plastic knobs, but it should come out easily. Behind it, you will notice the harness shown in the next picture. Unplug it, by pressing its red safety tab.
At this point, you can service the light bulbs or you can proceed to replace the entire assembly. Plug the electrical harness to the new tail light, install it back into the body of the car and secure it with the two knobs. These are the steps you need to follow, in order to change the tail light assembly on Dodge Caravan, produced between the years 2001 and 2007.
