Do it yourself, change the tail light assembly on your Toyota Camry, the model made in 1995. This replacement will require needle nose pliers or a flat blade screwdriver and an 8 mm wrench. If you follow the steps below, you’ll probably change the assembly in less than 20 minutes.
You will start in the trunk of the car. You have to pull away the insulation behind the tail light you wish to replace. You can do that by removing the three plastic pins that hold it (see image below). You can pry them out using a flat blade screwdriver or you can use needle nose pliers inserted behind the insulation, to pull them out.
After you do it, you will gain access behind the tail light. Here you will have to remove the two nuts that secure it and unplug the electrical connector that powers it. You can see their location in the next image. The nuts can be removed using an 8 mm wrench or, to do it easier, you can use a socket wrench with a ratchet, of the same size.
Before pulling out the tail light, pinch the rubber that secures and seals the electrical harness onto the body of the car. Remove the old tail light and install a new one, making sure you insert first the harness through its hole in the body of the car. After you align the assembly and push on it, secure it with the two nuts, plug back its connector and reinstall the insulation above it. This is all you need to do, if you wish to service the tail light assembly on your Toyota Camry, the model manufactured in the year 1995.
