Do it yourself, change the tail light assembly on your Chrysler PT Cruiser, the model made between the years 2001 and 2005. This is a simple replacement that can be done in the back of your garage, in less that 15 minutes. You will require a flat headed screwdriver or a T27 torx bit with a driver.
In the beginning, you will have to remove the screw seen in the picture below, that holds the tail light assembly. You can do it with a flat blade screwdriver or using a T27 torx bit driver.
After you remove that screw, insert your fingers somehow between the assembly and the car’s body and pull out. The tail light should detach quite easily. Behind it, you will have to twist the sockets of the two light bulbs, as seen in the next image.
At this point you can install the replacement. Reconnect the two light bulbs onto the new assembly, insert it into the body of the car and secure it with the screw. These are the simple steps you need to follow, in order to remove and replace by yourself the tail light assembly on Chrysler PT Cruiser, the car model manufactured between the years 2001 and 2005.
