Do it yourself, change the side mirror on your Honda Civic. The replacement procedure is the same for most of Civic models made between the years 2001 and 2005. This operation is simple and you can do it in less than 20 minutes, using only an 8 mm socket.
You can start inside the car, by prying out the plastic cover behind the mirror. You can do it very simply by hand, you won’t require tools of any kind.
After you remove that cover, you will notice the three nuts that secure the mirror on the door frame, as you can see in the image below. You should be able to remove them quite easily, if you use an 8 mm socket. It can be difficult if you use a simple wrench, because you might lose the nuts into the door panel, when you remove them. The last step before removing the mirror is to disconnect the electrical harness that powers it.
At this point you can pull out the old mirror and install a replacement. Secure the new side mirror into the door frame with the three nuts, plug back the electrical harness and reinstall the triangle shaped plastic cover over them. These are the steps you need to follow, if you wish to remove and replace the side mirror on your Honda Civic, the model produced between the years 2001 and 2005.
